PhD Candidate Ronay Bakan has been awarded an Honorable Mention for the Hayward R. Alker Best Student Paper Award from the APSA Interpretive Methods and Methodologies Related Group for her paper “Fieldwork as Carework: Solidarity in the Disaster of the Century/Century of Disasters”. The award recognizes the student conference paper that best employs or analyzes interpretive methodologies and methods for the study of politics. Members of the award committee noted that they found the paper “fascinating” and that they “appreciated [her] diving into the messy complexity of fieldwork as carework and [her] compelling and innovative argument.” Congratulations, Ronay!
