PhD Candidate Ronay Bakan was awarded the 2024 Kendra Koivu Paper Award from APSA’s Qualitative and Multi-Method Research Section for her paper, titled, “Counterinsurgent Urbanism: Conflict in Ruins of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.” The paper was recongnized for its “empirical and theoretical contributions to the literature on political violence, counterinsurgency, and urban development,” according to the committee.
