Daniel Schlozman received his PhD in government and social policy from Harvard University and is currently an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. 

His book, When Movements Anchor Parties: Electoral Alignments in American History, will appear in 2015 from Princeton University Press. The book emphasizes the crucial role in American party development of alliance between political parties and social movements. In particular, the ties between organized labor and the Democrats, and the Christian Right and the Republicans, have defined parties’ basic priorities, and the organizable alternatives in national politics.

He is a currently a member of the Scholars Strategy Network and a trustee of the Maryland Center for Economic Policy.
